《英國(guó)皇家學(xué)會(huì)學(xué)報(bào)B》是英國(guó)皇家學(xué)會(huì)的旗艦生物研究期刊，接受具有突出科學(xué)重要性和廣泛普遍興趣的原創(chuàng)文章和評(píng)論。接受的主要標(biāo)準(zhǔn)是一項(xiàng)研究是新穎的，對(duì)生物學(xué)家具有普遍意義。發(fā)表的文章涵蓋了生物科學(xué)的廣泛領(lǐng)域，其中許多與生物體及其生存環(huán)境有關(guān)。范圍包括但不限于生態(tài)學(xué)、進(jìn)化論、行為學(xué)、健康與疾病流行病學(xué)、神經(jīng)科學(xué)與認(rèn)知學(xué)、行為遺傳學(xué)、發(fā)展學(xué)、生物力學(xué)、古生物學(xué)、比較生物學(xué)、分子生態(tài)學(xué)與進(jìn)化論以及全球變化生物學(xué)。提交的好稿件比我們印刷的空間要多得多，我們優(yōu)先考慮那些具有廣泛興趣的重大進(jìn)展的稿件。不鼓勵(lì)提交初步報(bào)告，不鼓勵(lì)提交僅僅證實(shí)以前調(diào)查結(jié)果的文章，也不鼓勵(lì)提交可能只引起少數(shù)專(zhuān)家組興趣的文章。只有在與基本生物學(xué)原理和過(guò)程有明確相關(guān)性的文章才會(huì)被考慮。所有的文章都將被發(fā)送給編輯委員會(huì)成員進(jìn)行初步評(píng)估，如果論文因?yàn)檫^(guò)于專(zhuān)業(yè)、不夠新穎或在其他方面存在缺陷而不太可能被接受，則可能在沒(méi)有經(jīng)過(guò)深入同行評(píng)審的情況下退回給作者。

Proceedings B is the Royal Society’s flagship biological research journal, accepting original articles and reviews of outstanding scientific importance and broad general interest. The main criteria for acceptance are that a study is novel, and has general significance to biologists. Articles published cover a wide range of areas within the biological sciences, many have relevance to organisms and the environments in which they live. The scope includes, but is not limited to, ecology, evolution, behavior, health and disease epidemiology, neuroscience and cognition, behavioral genetics, development, biomechanics, paleontology, comparative biology, molecular ecology and evolution, and global change biology.Many more good manuscripts are submitted than we have space to print, and we give preference to those presenting significant advances of broad interest. Submission of preliminary reports, of articles that merely confirm previous findings, and of articles that are likely to interest only small groups of specialists, is not encouraged. Articles will only be considered where they have clear relevance to fundamental biological principles and processes. All articles are sent to an Editorial Board member for an initial assessment, and may be returned to authors without in-depth peer review if the paper is unlikely to be accepted because it is either too specialized, not sufficiently novel, or is deficient in other respects.
